In this fun 4 hour hands-on workshop taught by 3DPrint Fashion Meetup cofounders Sylvia Heisel and Morphi, you will design and 3D print a textile swatch that you will get to keep. We will teach you all steps in the process: how to take a high contrast 2D design and transform it into a 3D printable model using Morphi (a simple, powerful 3D design app for 3D printing). You will also learn to slice your file using Cura slicing software and print on Ultimaker 3D printers at the Fat Cat Fab Lab.
Please bring your own device (iPad, or Mac or Windows laptops) to the workshop. We will help you load the software onsite and we will provide all the materials for 3D printing. If you wish, you can also bring your own 2D design made in Adobe Illustrator or other digital drawing program to use in creating your textile swatch (black and white with thick lines only).
